Here are some answers to common questions we get about AutoPilot and our AIMS software.

 

Can more than one person use my account at the same time? Is there an extra cost?

Yes, you can have multiple people logged into your account and all working in the same database at the same time with no problem. There is no extra charge to do this. Also, the multiple users can be in the same location or in different locations, it will not matter to the system.

Here’s the catch: Every user will log in with the same username and password. This means that every user will be “equal” in their access to the features and functions in the system:

  • All users can add, edit and delete contacts
  • All users can send emails
  • All users will have access to all contacts
  • All users can delete all contacts (and we cannot recover them for you)
  • All users can close the account

There is no distinction that Sally added this account, John deleted that account, and Linda added this note. As far as the system is considered, you are all the same person.

While this is a great feature and won’t cost you an extra dime, we suggest you use it with caution and only share your login and password with those people you trust 100%.

 

Can I bring my contacts over from Outlook or from my old contact manager?

Sure. Outlook, as well as most contact managers, will allow you to export your contacts into a standard format called CSV (Comma Separated Values). Once you have your data in a CSV format, it can be easily imported into AIMS. Watch this video for more details.

 

Can I sync my AIMS database with my smartphone?

Syncing is an old concept. You don’t want to sync, and work with a copy of your data. You always want to work with the real thing if at all possible.

With AIMS, you will use AIMS Mobile to access your contacts from your iPhone, Blackberry or Android device. You will be accessing your live data in real time, not a copy of your data.

With live data, if you add a contact on your mobile device it is the same as adding a contact on your computer. Or if your assistant back at the office adds a contact, you will see it on your mobile device immediately. Watch this video to see how it works.

 

But I thought syncing was a good idea? And as a bonus you always had your data in 2 places for back-up purposes.

Syncing was used in the olden days to copy your contacts from your computer to your smart phone and then back again. Today, in the world of smartphones, you don’t need to sync – you can get your data live and in real time.

If you have ever tried to sync your client database, you know the problems that always come along with syncing. Like duplicating all the contacts in your database, getting your data corrupted, or worst of all, accidentally deleting all of your contacts with no way to get them back!

In regards to data back-up, AIMS backs up your data daily with multiple redundancy. If it would make you feel better, you can save a copy of your own data by doing an export anytime you want to. Go to Settings -> Export Data.

 

What kind of support will I get with AutoPilot and AIMS? Do you offer telephone support?

With your AutoPilot subscription, you will have access to a full library of video training tutorials. We have found that in 90% of the cases, the answers to your questions can be found there.

If you are still stumped, you can send an email to tech@autopilotsfms.com and someone will get back to you promptly.

As far as telephone support goes, we have found that we can effectively serve our customers through the video tutorials and email support, without the need for an expensive telephone support staff. Our customers appreciate us keeping our prices as low as possible.

Sending an email to tech@autopilotsfms.com will get your fastest response as that email account is monitored 24/7.

 

Does AIMS work on a Mac?

Of Course! AIMS loves to be on Macs! Since AIMS is 100% web-based, you will not have any software to download and install on your computer. AIMS works great on a Mac, PC, Linux computer, iPad, tablet, or any other device running the latest versions Safari, Chrome, Firefox or Internet Explorer.

 

Do you share or sell my client data or personal information to anyone?

No! NEVER! As a customer of AutoPilot, all of your data and your personal information (including your e-mail address) is private and will never be sold, rented, shared, reviewed, loaned, or in any way used by anyone but you. For additional security, please do not share your login information with anyone.

 

Whose data is it anyways? When I put my client information into AIMS, who owns it and who can see it?

Your client information is 100% yours. No one else can see it, or use it. And when you leave, you take your data with you.

 

How secure is the information I enter into AIMS?

We use industry standard SSL encryption at the same level (128 bits) as online banks and financial institutions. Look for the lock in your address bar. We make all reasonable efforts to secure and safeguard your data.

 

How reliable is my AutoPilot service? Will there be downtime?

Nobody can promise 100% uptime, but we make every reasonable effort to ensure the highest possible availability. We only use the highest quality service providers and any scheduled downtime is late at night while you sleep or on the weekends.

 

How is my data backed up?

We do a daily back-up that will help us recover your data if there is ever a catastrophic problem with the servers  - a very unlikely event. However, if lightning strikes, we have you covered.

 

Do you ever update your AIMS software to add new features?

Do we EVER update it? How about constantly! =) All of our customers are currently using the live version of AIMS while we are creating and testing the next version privately. We are always looking for ways to make the software better and many of our enhancement ideas are based on ideas from our customers.

 

What if I have ideas or suggestions?

Can I get a discount off the monthly subscription price?

We have priced AutoPilot fairly so we can provide an excellent service that continues to grow and evolve with the market. You can earn a discount by referring a friend to us through our Refer A Friend program. You can also receive a price incentive by purchasing an annual subscription rather than paying month to month.
